Os X “Tiger”

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Once again apple has wowed me with Os x Tiger. So far I have loved the extra features that they have added. Dashboard is now essential for my every day work on my computer. Leave it to apple to deliver yet another great operating system and leave windows in the dust of service packs.

New place woes

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

So, lately has been crazy. I say that alot it seems. I take my state boards to become and offical nurse this Monday in 3 days. I have been studying (kinda). Well yesterday I was trying to cook a nice dinner before Jason got home from work. In the process the dishes needed to be unloaded from the dishwasher. I have slim to none confidence in our new dishwasher. I think it always leave crud on the dishes. So this time I was unloading and it seemed that every single dish was dirty and I was getting super mad. So I re-washed a bunch of them and unloaded the semi-cleaned ones. Well, after we finished our fantastic dinner :) we loaded the dishwasher. Jason went to start it and noticed that the rotating lid to the place where you put the detergent was closed. Sure enough it was full of soap which means it never was tunred on from the night before. Which means the dishwasher isn’t inept I am. The dishes in the dishwasher were dirty, thats why there was crud on every dish. On my goodness. Needless to say I was totally grossed out and to the point of dry heaving thinking of the grossness that I used to make dinner and eat it. Oh well. The moral of the story is, not to be closed minded. I just knew the dishwasher was bad so I didn’t even check to see if the darn dishes were still dirty because they hadn’t been washed. This is probably one of the many growing pains I will encounter on the road to adulthood. Welp, thats all I got. Signing off, still Rachel for now.

What has our World come to?

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

I just moved into my new apartment in Danville Indiana. I decided to not get cable TV for 2 reasons one it takes away from the quality time of Rachel and I. The seconded reason is that it just cost so much, 50 bucks for cable TV that is ridicules. Even though we don’t have cable TV we still have rabbit ears so we still get a few channels including MTV 2. Im not really sure how we get this with rabbit ears I guess its still ok but I didn’t know they broadcasted MTV but o well. I didn’t even know what was on MTV 2 until I got into this apartment. I am really just in total shock with this world. On MTV 2 in the corse of 2 hours there was a show on “My Life as a Porn Star”, “I need a Sex Rx”, “Teen Pregnancy” also in-between all that was commercials for Mortal Kombat video game where they freeze a person and they run them through a grinder. They also had a camercial for “Grand Theft Auto - San Andraus” In the commercial they show a guy stealing a car blowing it up with a rocket launcher and then riding off into the sunset and hanging out with his friends having a great time. So what the heck is our world coming to? Has it become so perverted that those are the norm’s? that those are what we want to see? It has never been more evident than just right now how fallen our world is. I once heard the TV called the eye of Sauron. More and more I see how true that is. In the movie Lord of the Rings there is a bad guy called Sauron who appeared as a great Eye, lidless and slitted, wreathed in flame. Against his piercing gaze none could stand. Once you look at the eye of Sauron you are sucked in and the evil takes you over. Sadly that is what today’s TV has come to. It takes today’s society to a new low, a new level of how far we have fallen from God. It pains me to even think how much our lives hurts God how it pains him to see that we just don’t get it. That he has so much planed for us, so much healing to give us, so much forgiveness that he has already paid the highest price for. I just want to cry out for this society for the lost for this world. I pray that we as a society start seeing through the lies of the eye of soromon and see this world through the eyes and heart of our creator.

XML and XSLT

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Well out of necessity I created a xslt today. You may be wondering what the heck a xslt because I know that Rachel always gets confused with all the acronyms that I talk about. When you are in the world of techie web developers all day you don’t even think about how much you use acronyms. Ok back to xslt it stands for eXtensible Style Language Transform, also known as xsl (same thing just with out the transform part). (more…)
