Yep its true, some of you are probably saying to your self “this is new news? I think not.” But yes, I am totally ticked at my self. This morning I got up at 5:15 like I usually do to go to work, got ready, drove 35 minutes, drank my coffee to get the day going. I walked into the report room (Im an RN) and the charge nurse says, “Rachel, are you supposed to be here today?” I was like “Umm, Yes”. The conversation continued. She said, “Well you are not on my board, go check the master schedule.” Turns out I am supposed to work Thursday, not Tuesday this week. Those darn days that start with “T” always throw me off.

This past Sunday we celebrated Jason’s 25th b-day. Yeah. Fullfiling my wife-ly duty I made him his favorite cake Angel food cake with sprinkles. Now last year I added the sprinkles to the batter too early and the cake turned a pretty shade of purple. Tasted great, but not quite fitting for a 24 year old man’s birthday cake. So this year bound and determined to make a better cake I bought different sprinkles. Applying the principle more is better I added close to 2 cups of sprinkles to the batter. Pretty proud of my self I put the cake in the oven, removed it at the proper time, and allowed it to cool. Just before it was time to blow out the candles I tried to get the cake out of the pan. To my surprise it seemed to be stuck so I gave it a good shake and plop it came out. It seems that I added perhaps too many sprinkles and that they all fell to the bottom of the cake. The cake had a brown, melted candy top layer. It looked like a doughnut. Also it seems because of the increased sprinkles to cake batter ratio the cake was unable to rise and produce the fluffy angel food texture and taste. Bummer, strike two. So next year I am hoping that the third time is a charm. Happy birthday Jason

This week we are embarking on building a fence for our future four legged friend. Jason and his dad have researched the fence needs. We have obtained an offical building permit. Its letters are big and red and look like old west writting. Quite stylish really. Tomorrow my dad and his friend are digging our posts-life savers really. When it comes down to it, we are pumped. Stay tunned for future devoplments- like a dog to run in the fence. Yeah Rah.

We thought everyone could use an update about our nephew Baby Jack. He has grown to a ripe old age of 4 months. He enjoys walks, time with mommy and daddy, figuring out how to make his toys make noise. He has added cereal to his diet lately. These pictures are just too cute really. Enjoy
