Confessions

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I have a confession to make. This is to clear Nikki’s (Jason’s sister) name so she doesn’t have to take all the blame. The other day at dinner Grandma Shore was talking about a potential menu for their super exciting fabulous anniversary party in Florida coming up in Feb. G-ma mentioned that there was going to be chicken salad. The conversation paused and I said, “Well you know Nikki doesn’t like chicken salad.” The truth is, I don’t either. There is it. The truth. I guess I didn’t have the guts to say that I didn’t like it, sorry G-ma and sorry Nikki. :)

Awhile back Jason did a chalk art for our church at a family weekend where our friends who are starting a church plant in New Zealand (Hamish and Molly, Nate and Whitney) happened to be speaking at. Hamish was touched by the drawing but because of the drawings size was unable to take it with him. So Jason made a smaller, air mail friendly drawing that can be shipped easier. Here is a the picture. Also if you are interested check out Nate and Whitney’s site: http://www.n8andwhitney.com/. There are doing awesome things for God in this country and are preparing to serve the people of New Zealand very soon.

Moses’ teeth

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

I know that this adds to Moses’ wuss factor but as a greyhound he needs his teeth cleaned every year bc he has trouble with gengivitis. We had his teeth cleaned this week and to my amazement his breath smells 100% better. The only down fall to the teeth cleaning is that he had to be put under anesthesia which happened to make his belly upset. After he had been home about an hour he puked gross green slimy stuff all over the carpet leaving a nice green mark that carpet cleaner stuff isn’t taking out. Eww. Well we called some heavy hitters to come next week and I’ll update you then. So the good news is Moses’ breath smells good, the bad news is the puke stain on the carpet smells bad. You win some, you lose some.

Cuddling with my trouble maker

Ouchie!

I got my flu shot yesterday. It wasn’t too bad; just sore over night. The next morning though, I had a nasty mark. Just thought I would show you. But really, you should find out if you should get a flu shot this year and get one. They saves lives or at least make them easier. Check out http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm

Workshop

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Jason has been working really hard on the workshop attached to the garage. He has already put up cabinets and cleaned out everything. Over the weekend Jason with help from his Dad lined the walls with pegboard. It was a great idea and really improves how everything looks. As usual, Great job Jason! Thanks to Dad.

Church Picnic

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Sunday was our church picnic at Ellis Park. There was a good turn out with all age ranges present. The food was good. Corn hole was a blast. Lauren was an ace making most of our points. Thanks Lauren. There were lots of things to do like eat, visit, play football, baseball, frisbee, and just relax.

Moses makes a mess, again

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

The other night we were out and came home to what looked like a teen-age prank in our living room. Moses found where we keep our extra toilet paper and had a good ‘ole time. There was torn toilet paper all over the living room and kitchen. Oh well, just one more door to keep shut. Here’s the damage:

Red Starry Night

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

This past weekend Jason and I were invited back to our alma-mater Purdue for an event through CMC called Red Starry Night. It was street festival with live music including activities for attenders and a market place hosting local artists and their work. Other cool features were a table set up by Compassion International promoting sponsorship of impoverished children from Uganda, henna tattoos, cards for kids and a s’mores making station. The art showcased many forms like zombie statues, stickers, caricatures, pottery, painted art, bead-work, and clothing. The night proved to be a blend of world and self awareness mixed with art and conversation. An other awesome feature was the beautiful weather which lent its self to a totally relaxed, artsy atmosphere of hanging out and enjoying God’s goodness.

Jason was invited to do his street art also known as Spray Paint Art. He makes planets and space scenes with spray paint and various round objects. This is more or less a hobby from his teenage years that he pulls out when asked. It was a great time. We were very glad to be back with old friends and enjoy the beautiful night. Here is a sampling of his spray paint art.

The only bad thing about using spray paint as a medium is the 2 day headache aftermath. Good thing he only does it every 3 years or so.

The night’s work.

In between music sets Jason would gather a faithful following to watch the painting evolve from beginning to end.
