Brian and Megan’s wedding

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

This past weekend we went to Lexington to see Jason’s friend Brian get married. The wedding itself was beautiful. It was fun to be apart of such a special day. We got to hang out with Scott from Purdue and check out his church. We also enjoyed visiting with our friends Johnny and Jenny and meeting their son Johnathan who is now 4.  Overall, it was a fun weekend of celebration and renewing friendships. Thanks Johnny & Jenny for such great hospitality and your continued friendship over the years. We are very grateful for you and all you’ve done.

I am a little behind due to my trip to Florida but I wanted to post this picture from Aimie’s senior recital. Not only was she gorgeous, she did a great job. As always we are really proud of her. Way to go Aimie! You rocked it. You have a beautiful voice that we always enjoy listening to. We love you!!

Rocking it with the fam

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

We were so glad to have my momma back from Florida this weekend we all got together Sunday for lunch. Aimie brought her video game Rockband. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a game where you follow the colors on the screen with “instruments” to play a song. We had a drum set, guitar and a microphone. It was a lot of fun. Really, you don’t have to have any musical talent to play the drums or guitar but it helps if you do. Here are some pics from the fun day.

Playtime with smallgroup

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Last Tuesday to mix things up at small group we decided to use play-doh to learn about John chapters 5 &6. We broke into 2 groups and made the scenes from Jesus feeding the 5,000 and the healing at the pool. Although it was light hearted, it was interesting to comb over the stories and find the details we wanted to represent. Both groups did a great job. Here is a sampling from the masterpieces … or something like that.

Nate & Whitney come to the States

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

I know we’ve talked about our friends Nate & Whitney, who decided to become missionaries to New Zealand about 2 years ago, before. Well they are back in the States for a 3 month visit and we were lucky enough to have an evening with them to catch up. Things are going well as they enjoy their time back here. When they are back home in New Zealand they will be moving to a new city and starting a church. If you want to read more …  visit their website at : http://www.n8andwhitney.com

One super exciting thing we got to do was meet their beautiful and charming daughter Lane. She was born in New Zealand so this is the first time we were able to see her in person; even though we are faithful readers of their blog and love to read the stories of how she is growing.

Overall, it was a good visit. It was encouraging to hear how God is working in their lives. Enjoy your time in the US Nate & Whitney. We wish you the best and you will be in our prayers.

Curtains for the baby’s room

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

As promised, I’ve got some pictures of the baby’s room as we continue to get it ready. No word on the baby yet – we’ll keep you posted. Jason’s mom, Linda, made us roman shades to go in the room like we have in the living room. We put them up this past weekend and really like them. She & Chris (Jason’s dad) did a great job. The curtains really pull the look together. Thank you so much Chris & Linda for your help and hard work. We love you!

Here are a few shots of them as well as some other details we’ve added. Enjoy. And no the room isn’t round – Jason used a type of lens that allows you to take a wider shot.

Visit with Andee

Friday, March 6th, 2009

This past Wednesday I ventured down to Columbus, IN to visit my good friend from nursing school Andee. We try to see each other every 3 months or so and keep in touch. I enjoyed seeing how big her kids Benjamin (3) and Anna (1) are getting. We had lots of fun catching up & hanging out.  I couldn’t resist taking some pics of her cuties. See you in a couple of months Andee. I enjoyed our visit and value our friendship.
