This year during our church’s VBS the kids raised money for our mission trip to Zimbabwe to help us put on a VBS there. The goal was $1000. God is amazing though and able to do more than we ever ask for. The kids raised over $2000 in just 5 days! We were floored. Since they were able to meet the goal several people got pies in the face - including Jason. Below is a clip of the pie fun. Jason is seriously becoming a pie in the face professional. This is his 2nd year. Let me know and I’d be happy to hire him out for less than $2000 Again we just praise God for his provision and for the kids.

Aimie’s Bachelorette party

This past weekend I went to my little sister’s bachelorette party. It was luau themed and super fun. Her friend Amy Noy did such a great job planning the shower. I am so excited for Aimie and Chris. T-minus 6 days until the wedding.

Happy Father’s Day

We had a great time celebrating Father’s Day. We went out to eat as a family and then went Putt Putting. It was a lot of fun - but like 100 degrees. Seriously, in between the holes we were all searching for shade. Despite the hot weather we had lots of fun together as a family. Happy Father’s Day Daddy! I am blessed to have you for my dad and love you very much!

Louisville Getaway

In celebration of our upcoming 4th anniversary Jason planned a quick get away to Louisville. We stayed at this super cute Bed and Breakfast in the Historic District called the DuPont House. It was a gigantic 3 story mansion built in the 1800’s. We stayed in a beautiful suite with a huge bathroom - complete with a spa tub. We had dinner at a fancy restaurant called Rivue along the river. It was on the 25th floor and had a crazy view. We watched the sunset while we ate steak and a complimentary dessert. The next day we went to the Louisville Slugger Museum and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. We had a great time getting away and just hanging out and relaxing.

Aimie’s Bridal Shower

Last Saturday, along with my mother-in-law Linda, we had a bridal shower for my sista Aimie. In about a month she will marry the love of her life Chris. We had a great time visiting, eating yummy treats and watching Aimie open a ton of presents. I am so excited for the two of them and glad that I could show my sister how much I love her. Good luck guys. I wish you all the best. Also, thanks to Linda for your great party planning skills. And thanks to everyone for coming out and showing your love to Aimie. Couldn’t have done it without you!

Visit with Grandma RoseMary

Aimie & I went down to Brown County this week hunting for a glass sculpture and to visit with our Grandma. We had a great time searching the stores for the perfect piece as well as hanging out with each other. We had a lovely lunch and enjoyed catching up. I love you both a ton and had a great day!!

New Planters

The past weekend I decided to replant some of the plants I took home from my Grandpa’s funeral. I was really pleased how they turned out. The smaller ceramic pot is from Jason’s co-worker Scott Cooper. He makes his own pottery and has his own studio called St. Earth Pottery. Check out more at http://www.negentropic.com/clay/index.htm

Aimie’s Graduation

Yesterday my sister, Aimie, graduated from U Indy! She graduated with her Bachelors of Arts for music education. The ceremony was very nice and we were glad to be there. Way to go sis! We are so proud of you. It was a fun day to celebrate all Aimie has accomplished and be with family. Here are some pictures from the day.

Chef Extraordinair

The other night my brother, an up and coming local chef, brought over the most delicious dessert I have tasted in awhile. He made a caramel apple tart with an almond meringue. Wonderful! I am so lucky to have a younger brother that can make excellent (in this case comfort) food. God is good.

Way to go Dave - it was great. Thanks for sharing. To my readers: Seriously - I know you’re mouth is watering now if you’ve read this. Let me know - I’m sure he can whip you something up if your interested for a small fee.
